FINDING MY CALLING: A FUTURE TEACHER’S STORY

Good day everyone. I am Lheynevelle Sabela Alcantara from BEED 1-C at EVSU. My life has been an interesting ride so far. I want to tell you a bit, about my life journey. I think it is nice to share what has been happening in my life with all of you. My life journey is something that I like to look at and I hope you will enjoy hearing about it.

When I was a kid, I really liked teaching especially to my cousins, friends and the kids who lived near me. In my mind I was like a teacher and they were my class. I felt happy when I was teaching them. It made me feel good inside even when I was very young.

When I got to high school and senior high I started to wonder if teaching was really what I should be doing. I would ask myself is teaching really what I am supposed to do? Is BEED the choice, for me? I would pray to God. Ask him to help me figure things out. At that time He gave me a sign and that moment really made my decision to go after education and pick this program a lot stronger. I mean this program is what I wanted to do. He helped me make up my mind.

I think that education is really important. It can make a difference in peoples lives. When teachers teach they are not just talking about things they read in books. They are also helping students think for themselves to be creative and love learning. I am a student. I know that life is not always easy. Education is not about being happy or sad. It is, about how I deal with the things that happen to me. Education can help me with that. Education can change my life. Help me handle the challenges I face. Being a student is tough. It is really hard when you start to doubt yourself and you do not know what is going to happen in the future. The hard times I have been through have made me stronger. They have made me want to keep going more. I have learned that I should not give up easily. I mean I have already gotten this far with being a student. So I do not think I can just turn around and stop now. Being a student and moving closer, to my goal is what I need to keep doing. Being a student is what I am. I need to see this through.

As I continue my journey toward becoming a teacher, I look ahead with hope and excitement. I believe that by doing my best today, I can create a better future for myself tomorrow. I know the path will be challenging, but I promise to face every obstacle with courage, confidence, and hard work. For me, teaching is more than a profession—it is a mission to inspire, encourage, and support students as they strive to succeed in life.
